SFASME is one of the local chapters of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. I was involved with local ASME sections beginning with my time as an undergraduate at UC Berkeley student section in 1989, and upon graduation began working with the San Francisco professional section.
I served on the executive committee of SFASME as chair, treasurer, webmaster, newsletter editor and honors and awards chair from 1995 to 2005.
